1st Phase Care (2019-2020)
During Covid 19 1st Phase, the State Maharashtra becomes the most vulnerable home of corona victims. The State was suffered with human chain network of inviting corona saturation because of voluntary generating of unwanted crowds in unprecedented ways and growing forces of returning migrated labours from different cities of Maharashtra.
At the same time many a crowds, the returning workers from Telengana, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Chattisgada and Odisha also entered to the State Maharashtra to reach their home. And the District Gondia becomes the gateway of transition triangle point of returning migrated workers by road on foot.
As a whole, Gondia District found to be the home yard of saturation heaven of Covid 19. Government took steps to face the challenges for minimization but was helpless because of hopeless situations of no specific disaster preparedness and streamlined management mechanism.
In this situation, Shri Ganesh Gramin Vikas Shikshan Sanstha, Gondia with association of Goonj New Delhi took the emergent care on Rahat Covid 19 serving the fallowing activities at community level.
Around 50,000 returning migrated workers along with their families have been provided with stop way free shelter, health check up, PPE equipments and serving of cooked hygienic food with the facilities of open dining at ‘APPAT KALIN BHOJAN KENDRA’ Gondia city.
The SGGVSS also took some community based Covid 19 care activities at village level through its qualified and devoted social team along with its own nursing team. This programme harvested a new knowledge with SGGVSS in regards disaster preparedness and management for future social care.
