Gender Inclusion- Women Welfare

Rural women, particularly from poor and landless families, often lack access to credit and control over income, limiting their participation in development activities and perpetuating economic vulnerability. To address this, SGGVSS implements Self-Help Group (SHG) formation and capacity-building programs under DRDA and NABARD in LWE-affected areas.

The program focuses on:

• Empowering women economically through collective savings, credit access, and livelihood support
• Capacity building and skill development to enhance income-generation and self-reliance
• Supporting rural households, particularly small and marginal farmers, through sustainable agricultural and non-farm livelihood initiatives
• Promoting community development via natural resource management, infrastructure creation, and improved productivity

By strengthening women’s groups and providing financial and technical support, the program contributes to poverty reduction, improved food and nutritional security, and enhanced participation of women in socio-economic development.
