The intervention focuses on strengthening Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) services in slum and underserved settlements through the provision of safe drinking water infrastructure, development of community & school sanitation facilities, and implementation of structured Information, Education and Communication (IEC) and Behavior Change Communication (BCC) programs. The project adopts a community-managed service delivery model, building institutional and technical capacities of local user groups to ensure effective operation, maintenance, and long-term sustainability of WASH assets.
A key component of the program is occupational therapy and skill-based rehabilitation, where indoor patients are engaged in productive activities such as engage in sustainable agriculture, horticulture development, manufacturing candles, phenyl, liquid soap, and decorative items. This approach helps in restoring self-confidence, developing work discipline, and supporting partial livelihood generation during the recovery phase.
In addition to centre-based services, the project implements community outreach and prevention campaigns in rural and high-risk habitations through awareness camps, IEC activities, and community meetings to prevent substance abuse and promote healthy lifestyles.
Currently, the centre provides treatment to approximately 14-20 patients per month and offers counselling and family support to about 14-20 families per month to ensure sustained recovery and social reintegration.
The organization implements an integrated and comprehensive Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCH+A) program in strategic alignment with the National Health Mission (NHM), aimed at strengthening service delivery systems and improving health and nutrition outcomes for women, children, and adolescents, with special focus on rural, tribal, and other underserved populations.
